The Ipso Gallery in downtown Sioux Falls is one of my favorite (if not THE favorite) place for art in town. Not only do they share space with the spectacular Fresh Produce gang, but they provide amazing gallery openings several times a year.
On Friday, May 14, they will be hosting the Time Piece Exhibition.
This showing is a particularly interesting one that has been in the works for quite some time. Ten local artists were given two words of inspiration, sponsored by a local group or individual. The artists were given the words and 48 hours to create their piece, which will be unveiled on Friday. The funds raised from the exhibit go to the State Theater.
Sponsors include Etc. Magazine, The Market on Phillips, Jessa and Andy Howes, Beth and Matt Thornton, Workplace Technologies, 605 Magazine, Al Bowden, Howalt McDowell Insurance, Enger Farms and The Rock Garden Tour.
Artists include Reina Okawa, Ceca Cooper, Diana Behl, Eli Show, Kiel Mutschelknaus, Shannon Frewaldt, Liz Bashore Heeren, Mary Groth, Erin Toft and Michael Hook.
The showing starts at 6 pm and lasts until 8 pm. Come celebrate some spectacular artists as well as the renovation of the State Theater.
