I’m very sad to announce that the El Raedio Show will no longer be airing on KCFS every Friday afternoon.
This morning, I received an email explaining that my show has been cut due to the amount of students interested in a show this semester. Apparently seven months means nothing to them if you’re not registered at the university.
I’m working on setting something else up, but it’s hard to constantly rearrange time slots, etc, when you have numerous other jobs. I’ll keep you all updated on the situation. I’m also tossing around the idea of just having some sort of podcast. We’ll see.
Thanks to everyone who has listened to my show thus far. I really appreciate you all. None of this would have been possible without listeners, and wonderful musicians willing to spend some time with me on air. I hope this is not the end.
After taking a month off and switching time slots, the El Rae-dio show came back refreshed and renewed.
On Episode 12, Dan and Mike Nissen of The Sewer Rats joined me in the studio. The brothers and I chatted about their appearance at 44 Fest in Sioux Falls, future plans for the band, and the cooperative effort of bands in the local music scene.
The Sewer Rats currently have one album out (Save Yourself), and are currently in the works of putting another one together. Stay up to date with the band by checking them out on MySpace, Facebook and ReverbNation.
Download The Sewer Rats’ appearance via MediaFire here. Episode originally aired June 18, 2010 on 94.5 KCFS (Sioux Falls).
Louie Guerrero – also known as Adapt – has been working the local hip hop scene for several years now. Though most of his records are with Truth (under Truth & Adapt), Louie is stepping into his own and releasing a series of solo albums.
Blue is the first in the series and was released in May. Check Adapt out at Nutty’s North performing some new and old tunes when he opens for Qwel and Maxilla Blue on July 2.
Follow him on Twitter to stay up to date with shows and upcoming releases.
